Ingredients

  • 1 medium banana, frozen Potassium, natural sweetness
  • 100g mixed berries, frozen Antioxidants, vitamin C
  • 200g Greek yoghurt (0% fat) Casein protein, probiotics
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (25g) Fast-absorbing whey, 20g protein
  • 1 tbsp honey Simple carbs for glycogen
  • 200ml unsweetened almond milk Low-calorie liquid base
  • Handful ice cubes Texture and temperature
  • Optional: 1 tsp spirulina Micronutrient boost

Method

  1. Ensure all fruit is frozen for optimal texture. Freeze banana slices and berries at least 4 hours before use (or overnight).
  2. Add almond milk to blender first. This prevents ingredients sticking to the bottom and ensures smooth blending.
  3. Add Greek yoghurt, then protein powder. Blend briefly (10 seconds) to fully dissolve protein and prevent clumping.
  4. Add frozen banana, berries, honey, and ice cubes. Blend on high speed for 45-60 seconds until completely smooth with no frozen chunks remaining.
  5. If too thick, add almond milk in 50ml increments until desired consistency. If too thin, add more ice cubes and blend again.
  6. Pour into a large glass or shaker bottle. Consume immediately post-workout whilst cold. Do not store — nutrients degrade and texture separates over time.
  7. Clean blender immediately after use. Protein residue becomes difficult to remove if left to dry.
